What is the OneMace® Lite modular macebell?

The OneMace® Lite modular macebell is an adjustable macebell, offering a weight range from 4 to 14kg in 1kg increments. Ideal for steel mace enthusiasts who want to train at home, it lets you get equipped without breaking the bank or taking up too much space, all while ensuring professional-grade quality. With 11 macebells in one, it helps you save both space and money.

Weight adjustment is simple. Each weight has its own 24mm threaded spindle, making assembly quick and easy. Thanks to the rubber disc at the base of each weight, tightening is optimal. There's no risk of opening, even during ballistic exercises such as swinging.

Whether you're training at home or on the move, the OneMace® Lite is suitable for all levels and will accompany you wherever you go.

Why train with a macebell or steel mace ?

The macebell or steel mace is a versatile training tool, which can be used as a complement to strength training or as a dedicated practice. The mace is particularly interesting for its ability to perform rotational movements, often neglected in traditional training programs.

The key movements in macebell practice are the full swing (360) and the alternate swing (10 to 2). These rotational exercises, performed with one or two arms, develop the power, endurance and mobility of upper-body muscles (mainly trunk, shoulders, triceps and back).

What's the difference between a clubbell and a macebell ?

Clubs and maces are visually similar : both have an offset center of gravity, with the weight concentrated on one side. The exercises performed with these tools, such as the swing or the mill, are mainly rotational movements. Both are excellent for developing rotational strength, improving core stability, strengthening grip and increasing overhead mobility. But how do you choose between a clubbell and a macebell ? The main difference lies in the length of the handle. The clubbell distributes its weight along the entire length of the handle, while the macebell has a long handle with the weight concentrated at the end. As a result, the clubbell has a shorter lever arm, while the macebell has a very long one. As a result, the clubbell is better suited to developing shoulder and back mobility, as well as grip and upper-body strength. The macebell, on the other hand, is ideal for working the power of torso rotation and dynamic core strength.

Where does the macebell come from ?

The macebell, used today in modern disciplines such as macelifting, has its origins in the gada, a traditional fighting instrument from India. The gada is a heavy club, historically used by Indian warriors and wrestlers to develop strength, endurance and agility.

Over time, the gada evolved into the macebell, used in contemporary fitness and functional training disciplines. While basic movements such as the swing have been retained, the macebell's design has been modernized to offer greater safety and manoeuvrability. The aim remains the same: to improve strength, coordination and overall fitness.

    At first I was sent a kettlebell by mistake. But this was dealt with efficiently and politely, and my macebell arrived just a few days later.
    I’ve been looking for a firm in Europe that makes good adjustable maces and clubs for a few years and was very happy to find Eryx. The 4-14kg adjustable macebell does not disappoint. It is robustly made and feels very good in the hand at different weights. It is a joy to swing and looks great too! I’m looking forward to getting hold of the adjustable club as well, though it would be good to be able to buy a second short handle when I do.
    The weights are easy and quick enough to adjust and they fit very well. An extra few of the rubber discs that ensure a tight fit were included in the box, which is a thoughtful addition.
    My only criticism would be of the packaging the mace was delivered in. It came already assembled in a long cardboard box that was, for obvious reasons, heavily weighted to one end. The box had split completely in two and been patched together en route, but luckily the mace wasn’t damaged. I think it should be easy enough to find a better packaging solution that matches the quality of this product.

    I purchased the 6-16kg adjustable club and the 4-14kg adjustable mace. Both are great products. Exercising with the club and mace is an acquired skill, but it’s a pleasure and my shoulders feel great even after a hard workout.

    Serrage / desserage impeccable, très bon centre de gravité, longueur parfaite …
    (Dommage que l’on puisse pas acheter le manche du club seul pour l adapter sur les poids de la macebell.)
